Description
Hydrosols are steam distillates that are made using the same process as essential oils. I make them and include all of the oils so they include both water and fat-soluble elements. They retain the aroma of the plant and are an excellent addition to your skincare routine. The PH of hydrosols is slightly acidic and perfect for an after shower or bath skincare. Hydrosols are safer than essential oils and can be used to dilute essential oils in blends that can be used for emotional and physical care.
Hydrosols are a wonderful way to nourish the skin and some can be ingested as a tonic. Pine hydrosol is wildcrafted on our farm in Florida. The hydrosol has a citrus fragrance and can be used internally and externally. It has been used traditionally to heal wounds externally and treat upper respiratory ailments as well as other illnesses. Rich in vitamin C – pine was a favorite to prevent scurvy.
Pine hydrosol can be added to tea, food, or smoothies to get the benefits. Using hydrosols is a great way to ensure you are getting the benefits of the plant captured and preserved at its peak.
This is an excellent room freshener or linen spray. It’s the light, crisp, citrusy scent.
